In the Blackbird Leys community, many local mothers have expressed feelings of isolation and loneliness, particularly when living away from their families and lacking connections with others in the area. This disconnection is often exacerbated for low-income families who cannot afford outings or recreational activities for their children on weekends. Additionally, mothers frequently find themselves constrained by their responsibilities, leaving little time to engage socially.

The WEMPOWERED community activities foster connections among mothers, offering a sense of belonging, social engagement, and resources that build confidence in their new cultural environments.
